At a Hollywood hotspot, Malia and Sasha Obama were photographed enjoying the night, wearing bold outfits—one showing her midriff, the other a revealing top.

Life in the White House was far from ordinary for Malia and Sasha, daughters of Barack and Michelle Obama, who simply wanted to have fun.
Malia (born July 4, 1998) and Sasha (born June 10, 2001) grew up under constant scrutiny at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, one of the world’s most famous addresses, from 2009 to 2017.
Michelle Obama explained on Moments that Make Us with Melinda French Gates:
“They were constantly watched. They had to learn to handle attention politely and build their own lives in the spotlight without being consumed by it.”
She added, “They had to be smart, confident, and independent from the start—even living in a house with butlers, maids, and florists. I raised them knowing they wouldn’t live there forever, so I needed to hand over their lives and let them manage it.”
Malia
In 2014, preparing for prom, Malia’s father found it emotional seeing his eldest daughter all grown up.
“Seeing your daughter in heels for the first time is a bit shocking,” he said on Live with Kelly & Michael. “She’s lovely. She’s beautiful.”
After high school in 2016, Malia took a gap year before attending Harvard University, graduating in 2021. Interested in entertainment, she worked as a production assistant on Halle Berry’s Extant and as a writer on Amazon’s Swarm.
In 2024, under the name Malia Ann, she debuted at Sundance with Heart, a short film she wrote and directed.
Sasha
Barack once told People that Sasha “is full of energy and the comedian in the family.”
After finishing high school in 2019, Sasha started her first year at the University of Michigan online during the pandemic. She graduated in May 2023 from the University of Southern California with a sociology degree.
The sisters now live together in Los Angeles. Michelle Obama reflected:
“It feels great that the two girls you raised find comfort together at a kitchen table—it’s exactly what you hope for them.”
All grown up
Malia and Sasha were recently spotted partying with Drake at The Bird Streets Club in Los Angeles. Both wore daring outfits fitting the event.
Sasha showed off her midriff in a black cropped corset with low-slung cargo pants and open-toe shoes, her braids in a high ponytail, accessorized with jewelry.
Malia matched her sister’s style, wearing a sheer lace-up top and high-waisted printed trousers, long brown hair flowing, and chunky boots completing the look.
Reports say the sisters partied until 4 a.m. before leaving with friends.
Obamas and rap royalty
Drake, who shares mutual admiration with the Obamas, was in Los Angeles for his It’s All A Blur Big As The What? tour at the Crypto.com Arena.
The Toronto-born rapper has expressed interest in portraying Barack in a biopic, and the former president approved, saying in 2020:
“Drake seems capable of anything he wants… he has my household’s stamp of approval. I suspect Malia and Sasha would be fine with it.”
