Jelly Roll turned heads alongside his wife, Bunnie Xo, at the Pre-Grammy Gala ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards, proudly showcasing his major weight loss transformation.
The 41-year-old country artist, who once weighed around 550 pounds, appeared almost unrecognizable as he walked the red carpet on Saturday, Jan. 31, arm-in-arm with the Dumb Blonde Podcast host. The couple, who share two children — Bailee Ann, 17, and Noah Buddy, 9 — looked happy and affectionate throughout the evening.
Now weighing approximately 265 pounds, according to Men’s Health, Jelly Roll wore a sleek black textured suit, while Bunnie, 46, made a bold fashion statement in a form-fitting metallic latex dress. Cameras captured the pair exchanging affectionate moments as they posed together.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Jelly Roll — whose real name is Jason DeFord — shared that getting ready for the event involved a bit of extra effort, especially when it came to his wife’s outfit. He joked that putting on the latex dress required some assistance, which Bunnie humorously confirmed.
Despite the unconventional preparation, Jelly Roll appeared amused and complimentary, joking about how much he enjoyed the experience and playfully praising his wife’s look. The couple continued to banter lightheartedly, laughing and teasing one another about the outfit throughout the interview.
Beyond the red carpet fun, Jelly Roll has been open about his long-term commitment to improving his health, a journey he began in 2022. He has previously shared that he struggled with his weight for most of his life and even embraced the nickname “Jelly Roll” given to him by his mother during childhood.
While he has said his success came despite his weight, not because of it, the singer explained in a 2024 interview that his lifestyle has changed dramatically — especially while touring. He noted that his tour environment now prioritizes healthy eating, exercise, and regular emotional check-ins with his crew, replacing the unhealthy habits of his past.
Jelly Roll has also spoken candidly about how weight loss and addressing his food addiction have improved his overall quality of life, including increased energy, confidence, and a renewed sense of vitality in his marriage.
