A recurrent type of neuroblastoma cancer was the cause of death for Brielle “Brie” Bird, who had been battling the disease for five years. Through the use of the account @briestrongerthancancer, the little girl and her family recorded her life and the path she took toward better health.
The news of Brie’s passing was shared on Instagram by her family on Thursday, December 11th.
The miracle is you, my dear! It was the most precious pleasure to be able to accompany you home, and your role on earth was accomplished,” her family stated in a letter that was sent out on Friday, December 11. In addition to bringing individuals to Christ, you demonstrated to the whole world that God is good, and your light was able to radiate to every corner of the planet. To the end of time, we will adore you!
The family of the little social media celebrity continued by saying that they would “never stop” sharing her tale, and they added, “Please come visit us much more frequently.” The door to your bedroom is always left open, and we will make sure that the light in the playroom is on.
“Brielle, you have accomplished everything with grace! You have done it!” The message added, “I can only imagine the incredible reunion, and I am so jealous; however, I know that you ran straight to Jesus as soon as you heard the news. 😔 “Thank you for being an inspiration to so many.”
In 2020, Brie was given a diagnosis of neuroblastoma at the stage 4 level. During that time period, Brie’s mother Kendra shared with their 654,000 Instagram followers that the medical professionals discovered a tumor measuring 8 centimeters in Brie’s belly, in addition to the cancer that had spread to other parts of her trunk.
About two years later, the family celebrated that Brie was officially cancer free, though her neuroblastoma returned in January 2024. “I hope you never have to tell your child that the cancer is back,” Kendra captioned the photo she shared with all of her friends and family after learning the devastating news.
Kendra made the announcement to their friends and followers on social media that Brie had entered hospice care at the beginning of July 2025. By writing a long and emotive caption, Kendra was able to highlight the advanced conditions of Brie’s health. In the caption, she recounted an incident in which Brie requested that she not go to the hospital to obtain treatment because of the persistent agony she was experiencing.
Kendra thought back to the moment when her daughter had asked her, “Is it okay if I say no this now?” I simply want to stay at home because I not only don’t feel well while I’m there, but I’m also afraid of not going there again.
Brie was informed by her mother that she did not have to go to visit her physicians and nurses, as her mother had agreed with her.
“I called the hospital and told them we decided not to come this week,” Kendra said in her letter, “We want to respect her decision, give her the chance to speak up for herself, and with no promise that it’ll work anyway, I can’t force her to be miserable.”
Her loved ones made a significant effort to make Brie’s last days memorable, despite the fact that the circumstances surrounding her end-of-life care were very distressing. Ariana Grande, who is one of her favorite celebs, surprised Brie by sending her a box on August 7 that included various items. Brie got the package.
The child influencer uploaded a video in which she unboxed the goods, many of which were influenced by the film Wicked and Glinda, the role that Grande plays in the movie. A collection of plush Squishmallows, nail polish, perfume, and other valuable items were some of the gifts that the singer of “Thank U, Next” delivered to her dedicated little admirer.
I am indebted to you, Ariana Grande, for all you have done. I love everything in the package that you got, especially the Squishmallows and everything else,” Brie told the camera after marveling at the goods.
The video concluded with a surprise message from Grande, who said that she heard about Brie’s love of Wicked from her mom. Grande concurred and said her “personal favorite” part of the gift was the collection of Squishmallows. Adding, “They are very cute and very comfortable,” she said.
“I’ve seen your videos and I think you are the most amazing, most inspiring little light beam in this universe. You’re just so incredible, so thank you for being you,” Grande continued. “I’m sending you so much love and many, many, many virtual hugs. I hope this makes you smile, and I’ll speak to you soon. Love you.”
