One of the most memorable moments from the 2018 season of The Voice Kids UK came when 7-year-old Shaney-Lee took to the stage to perform John Denver’s timeless hit, “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” His rendition, which took place during the blind auditions, quickly became one of the season’s most emotional and heartwarming highlights.

From the very first note, it was obvious that Shaney-Lee had a true passion for country music. Wearing his cowboy hat and boots, he looked every bit the part of a young country star. But it was his sincere, heartfelt performance and genuine innocence that really won over the judges and the audience alike. His sweet, tender voice brought a new charm to the classic song, blending nostalgia with a youthful sweetness.

The judges — Will.i.am, Pixie Lott, and Danny Jones — were visibly moved by his performance. As Shaney-Lee’s soft, melodic voice filled the studio, the crowd cheered, and soon two chairs spun around. Danny Jones of McFly was the first to turn, followed by Pixie Lott, both eager to mentor the talented young boy whose authenticity and natural gift for singing stood out from the start.
