It hasn’t been long since Gere, now 70, became a father again. In February, he and his wife, 35-year-old Alejandra Silva, welcomed a baby boy — their first child together. Both, however, already had children from past relationships.

For Gere, that includes his 20-year-old son, Homer James Jigme, whom he co-parents with his ex-wife, Carey Lowell.

It’s only natural to be curious about what Homer looks like today — and fans certainly won’t be disappointed.

Richard Gere became a Hollywood icon thanks to unforgettable roles in American Gigolo, Pretty Woman, and An Officer and a Gentleman. Not long after his rise to stardom, he met model and actress Cindy Crawford at a barbecue.

“We talked, then we had a date, then another,” Crawford once recalled.

Before long, they became one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples, constantly followed by paparazzi and gracing countless red carpets and magazine covers.

Though Gere initially hesitated about marriage, the couple eventually tied the knot in December 1991 in a spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony with just a few guests. “It was the wedding I dreamed of,” Crawford later said.

However, four years later, their marriage ended. Crawford explained that the significant age gap played a role — she was 22 when they met, while Gere was 39. “At 22, I was happy to follow, but later I wanted to walk side by side,” she admitted.

Several years later, Gere met Carey Lowell, a model and actress. In 2000, the couple welcomed their only child together — Homer.

During his earlier relationship with Crawford, Gere had been uncertain about fatherhood. But with Lowell, everything changed. “It just felt right,” Gere told The Guardian in 2002. “All the clichés about being a parent are true — the little things just don’t matter as much anymore.”

Homer was born in New York City and named after both of his grandfathers, with the Tibetan middle name “Jigme” — a nod to Gere’s deep commitment to Tibetan causes.

Growing up, Homer inevitably found himself in the public eye due to his famous parents. When Gere and Lowell separated in 2003, the media closely followed their custody battle, and Homer once again became the subject of unwanted attention.

Reports at the time claimed that Lowell sought a fair settlement, arguing she had put her acting career on hold to care for Homer and support Gere during their marriage.

Homer also has a half-sister, Hannah Dunne, from his mother’s previous marriage to actor and filmmaker Thomas Griffin Dunne. And more recently, he became a big brother when Gere and Alejandra Silva welcomed their son in New York.

Unlike his father, Homer prefers to keep a low profile and leads a quiet life in New York. However, it’s clear that he’s inherited Richard Gere’s striking looks and warm charisma.

Though he usually avoids the spotlight, Homer has occasionally appeared at public events with his father, such as the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy — Europe’s largest children’s film festival.
