The fallout from Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein continues, with unseen emails reportedly showing that Epstein financially supported Sarah and that she brought daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to visit when he was released from jail.
The Daily Mail said that Epstein wrote to his lawyer Paul Tweed in 2011 that Sarah “was the first to celebrate my release with her two daughters in tow.”
Beatrice and Eugenie were 20 and 19 when Epstein was released from prison in summer 2009. Epstein was found guilty of soliciting prostitutes and soliciting a child for prostitution in a Florida state court on June 30, 2008.
The insider tells PEOPLE that Beatrice and Eugenie never met Epstein. A source close to Sarah told the Telegraph that the mother and girls had no memory of the visit.
Sarah apologised to the London Evening Standard in March 2011 and promised “nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again.” The newly discovered emails date from one month later.
The Daily Mail reports that Epstein urged his attorneys that Sarah “should affirmatively state that she was misquoted.”
Sarah got New York residences. My release was celebrated first by her and her two kids. She visited me with a policeman at my front desk. He allegedly stated in emails that she requested charity assistance.
The Daily Mail reports that Sarah, 66, agreed to borrow money from Epstein previously, but the emails reveal that she sought for up to $100,000 and that Epstein wiped off her obligations to a former employer.
A 2011 email from Sarah to Epstein led numerous nonprofits to cut connections with her last month. On Sept. 20, The Sun and The Mail on Sunday claimed that Sarah called the financier “a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family” weeks after her London Evening Standard interview.
According to the email, she wrote, “I did not call you a pedophile. You feel very let down by me. I sincerely apologize to you and your heart.”
“You have always been a steadfast, generous, and supreme friend to me and my family,” it said. “I apologize for not responding to your email or contacting you today. Bedridden with dread. Paralyzed. I was told to avoid you and not talk or email you. I would give you, the Duke, and myself additional troubles if I did. I was lost and shattered. Please understand. I’d rather not harm Andrew again. I was terrified. I’m sorry.”
Prince Andrew renounced his royal titles and decorations on Friday, Oct. 17.
After consulting with The King and my family, Andrew, 65, stated, “The ongoing charges against me detract from His Majesty and the Royal Family’s duties. As usual, I prioritize family and country. I stick by my five-year-old refusal to enter public life.”
“With His Majesty’s permission, I must proceed. He said, “I will no longer use my title or honors.” “As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
