On Wednesday, when she was in the middle of a speaking event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, a 31-year-old conservative political activist was shot and murdered.
On Wednesday evening, Savannah Chrisley went on TikTok to express her grief at the passing of her buddy Charlie Kirk, who had just died. She was visibly distraught and said that she had been planning on joining him on his speaking tour of college campuses.
While students were participating in a question and answer session on gun violence on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, the conservative political activist was shot. Kirk was taken to the hospital as quickly as possible, but in the end, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. At the time, he was thirty-one years old. As far as the authorities are aware, the individual who fired the shots has not yet been taken into custody.
In her video, the reality television personality, who is 28 years old, said, “Today has been a challenging day.” The last two and a half years of my life have been some of the most difficult years I have ever had to go through, but throughout that time, I have met a lot of wonderful people and made friends that I hope will last a lifetime. Charlie Kirk was one of the individuals that welcomed me into their world, and I am so grateful for that.
After that, she proceeded to provide a description of the influence Kirk had on her life, stating that he was “someone who gave me a voice as a woman, made me feel like I had the power to show up in this world.”
Chrisley’s caption reflected these sentiments, as he said, “Even when the entire world turned its back on me and my family, he never stopped believing in us.” He instilled a sense of hope in us, he saw the potential inside us, and he served as a reminder that even when I was unable to see it myself, God still had a purpose in store for me. You will never be the same again if you embrace that kind of mindset.
Chrisley described herself as “numb” and said that she “was supposed to be standing next to him at every college this October.” I am experiencing feelings of utter devastation and a shattered heart as I sit here.
She continued by encouraging people to “remove politics from the equation” and instead place their attention on the evidence. “Charlie was a young man, a husband, and a father,” she said in her memoir. He still had so much life left to live and enjoy. I feel an intense sense of sadness for Erika and their children. There will never be enough words to replace the void that his love once occupied.
“Charlie…” You have had a transformative impact on the United States of America. I am not the same person I was before you came into my life. At the end of her caption, she reached the conclusion that her family had been transformed by her. My buddy, you may rest comfortable. A warrior has made their way into heaven.
She called Kirk’s wife, Erika Frantzve, one of the “kindest, most loving human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing,” asking her followers to “pray for Charlie, pray for his parents, his children, his entire family.”
“I am embarrassed that the world my children will grow up in is the one that exists today,” Chrisley said in her video. “But what I will not do is allow Charlie’s name to ever die. It will not, however. He was the founder of a new movement. I hope that I will be able to create half of the legacy that he has for my children.
On his scheduled “American Comeback Tour” as part of Turning Point USA, the political activist organization he co-founded at just 18 years old, Kirk’s next scheduled stops were at Colorado State University, University of Minnesota, Virginia Tech, and Utah State University in September.
In October, when Chrisley said she was set to join him at his “Prove Me Wrong Table,” Kirk was scheduled for appearances in Montana State University, University of North Dakota, Indiana University, Louisiana State University, River Center Theatre, and Ole Miss.
In a statement released Wednesday, per Us Weekly, Turning Point USA said, “It’s with a heavy heart that we, the Turning Point USA leadership team, write to notify you that early this afternoon, Charlie went to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in Heaven.”
@savannahchrisley I am numb. I can’t believe I’m even writing these words. Charlie Kirk changed my life…he brought me into the Turning Point family this past year, and I was supposed to be standing next to him at every college this October. Instead, I sit here with a broken heart, devastated beyond words. Charlie wasn’t just a leader or a voice for the youth…he was a believer in Christ. His faith anchored everything he did. And I know with certainty that while we’ve lost him here, he is now fighting for us all in heaven, standing boldly before the Lord, just as he did here on earth. He believed in me and in my family when the world turned its back. He saw potential, he spoke life into us, and he reminded me that God still had a plan even when I couldn’t see it myself. That kind of belief changes you forever. Take politics out of it…Charlie was a young man, a husband, and a father. He had so much life left to live. My heart aches for Erika and their children. No words will ever be enough to fill the space his love once held. Charlie…you changed America. You changed me. You changed my family. Rest easy, my friend. Heaven has gained a warrior ❤️
