Another medical treatment is going to be performed on Cory Wharton’s daughter in the near future.

On Tuesday, September 9, the 34-year-old Teen Mom alumnus posted a picture on Instagram and provided an update on his daughter Maya, who is three years old and who he shares with his former partner, Taylor Selfridge. Wharton was carrying his kid on his hip in the photographs, and she was wearing a medical gown that was made for a youngster and had a pacifier in her mouth.

Prayers for Maya 🙏🏽 Wharton made the statement that his little child, Maya, had to go to the Cath lab this morning in order to prepare her for her next open-heart surgery. Wharton’s daughter had her first open-heart surgery when she was seven months old.

I believe that all of my parents are in agreement on this. “It is never easy to deal with the stress of having to put your child under anesthesia, especially when you start to develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of all of her other procedures,” he stated. We are aware that she need this in order to feel better, despite the fact that it is not a pleasant sensation. I am going to say this: I am aware that Maya is a little warrior, and we will overcome this challenge with God’s help.

Wharton and Selfridge, who are no longer together, have joint custody of Maya and Mila Mae. Additionally, he is the father of a girl named Ryder. He shares custody of Ryder with his former partner, Cheyenne Floyd.

The Challenge star revealed in January 2023 that his daughter, Maya, had undergone open-heart surgery at the beginning of that month and that she had subsequently been released from the hospital after the procedure.

I am excited to share some positive news with each and every one of you. In the caption that Wharton wrote, it was said, “WE were finally discharged from the hospital ❤️🙏🏽.”

During the last two weeks, I have experienced a great deal of emotional highs and lows, and there have been moments when it has seemed as if I were in the midst of a nightmare. I am really grateful for this experience. However, I make an effort to have a good attitude at all times, and after spending two weeks in the Children’s Hospital and witnessing some families who have been there for months or even years, as well as a few who may never leave the hospital, I have come to the conclusion that I am fortunate. That is what the father of three children told me. “I’m very thankful that we got released today.🙏🏽❤️.” He pointed out that “during recovery, Maya had other plans” after explaining that the child had a “successful Glenn procedure.”

The Mayo Clinic defines a Glenn operation as a surgical treatment that “involves removing the first shunt and connecting one of the large veins that returns blood to the heart (the superior vena cava) to the pulmonary artery.”

The physicians were concerned because Maya’s oxygen levels were below the level they would have liked to see. “She was brought back into the operating room for a Cath lab procedure in an effort to resolve what they suspected was the issue,” he said, “six days after her Glenn.” “It turned out that there was nothing to fix, which was great but it didn’t fully explain the oxygen levels being so low.”

It was far more difficult to attempt to remove her off the ventilator on the second go-around. The former star of the reality show Teen Mom expressed her gratitude and happiness at being back home after this emotional roller coaster by saying, “I am simply pleased and grateful to be back in my own house after this roller coaster ride of emotions 🙌🏽.”
