Loren Patterson’s joyful performance quickly went viral, racking up millions of views.
At just six years old, Loren captured hearts worldwide when she danced, clapped, and tapped her feet with unshakable enthusiasm during her church choir’s concert.
The Dickson, Tennessee native was filmed on October 29 rocking out to Zach Williams’ “Old Church Choir” during a Sunday service. While Loren sang with the children’s choir, her mom, Jennifer Patterson, was performing just a few rows back with the adult choir.
“I knew something was happening up there, but I couldn’t tell what,” Jennifer told ABC News. “When I finally saw the video, I was stunned by what she was doing.”
Although the viral clip surprised many, Jennifer explained that her daughter’s energy was nothing out of character.
“That is exactly who she is,” Jennifer said. “She was just worshipping with her whole heart.”
This was Loren’s very first time singing publicly with the First Baptist Church choir. Music, however, is a big part of the family’s life—they often listen to Christian radio and Zach Williams’ songs both at home and in the car.
Within a week, Loren’s video had soared past 35 million views on Facebook and had been shared nearly 600,000 times. Jennifer said she now receives messages daily from people moved by her daughter’s uninhibited joy.
“I’ve heard from people all over the world saying they’ve been encouraged or blessed by watching,” she shared. “One message I’ll never forget came from a woman who said she renewed her faith after feeling convicted by the video.”
Even Zach Williams’ wife reached out, telling Jennifer how much of an impact Loren was having on people’s lives.
As for Loren herself? According to her mom, she isn’t dwelling much on the viral fame. She’s already preparing to sing again with the church later this month—just as joyfully as before.
