A 21-year-old walked the stage of America’s Got Talent with nothing more than a song that he had written himself and a quiet fire in his eyes, the type of fire that you get when the world says “maybe later” too often. The room was complete and utterly silent. A raised eyebrow was Simon’s way of demonstrating his determination.
When he finally spoke, however, everything changed. His voice pierced the hush. It caused the atmosphere to become electric. Around two minutes into the performance, the audience began to roar rather than clap. Then, as if the circumstance could not possibly get any better, it did: Howie, who was utterly captivated, jumped up on top of the judges’ table like a child who had seen a miracle and punched the golden buzzer. The confetti flew into the air. The atmosphere in the room exploded. An unexpected dream came true all of a sudden.
According to what Allen shared with me, “I believe that I have the potential to make a significant impact on the world, and I just want to see how much of a footprint I can leave on earth before I come to an end.”
Joseph Allen was brought up with self-assurance, has always had a passion for music right from infancy, and now has friends who are always there to support him. It was on Tuesday night when the Texan, who is 21 years old, participated in the audition for the fourteenth season of America’s Got Talent. All of these variables came together.
Allen, who is the youngest of twelve children in a household that is classified as “blended” and who describes himself as a “dreamer,” is the sort of youngster who succeeds in accomplishing his goals. Allen, who has been a fan of motocross for a prolonged period of time, is now focusing on his own music production, songwriting, and singing.
An enthusiastic welcome was extended to Allen by his family and classmates from Phoenix, Arizona, during the performance that took place on Tuesday night. They cheered him on as he stepped onto the stage. As time went on, Judge Simon Cowell said that Allen got the “best reaction for doing nothing” in the whole history of the competition.
When asked about the reasons he wanted to be the greatest at American Idol, Allen answered with self-assurance and without any trace of arrogance. “I want to see how much of a footprint I can leave on earth because I believe I have the ability to make a big impact on the world,” he said to me before he went. “I want to see how much of an impact I can make on the world.” The aspiring musician then provided a performance of a song that was composed just for the occasion and had elements of both rap and soul music. It was his declaration that “after today, the entire world will know my name.” I think he could have a point. Every single one of the four judges was moved, and it was a fortunate beginning.
Pay attention, this is the point at which dreams are realized. Gabrielle Union said, “And I think we are seeing your dream come true.” This was spoken as Allen wiped away his tears.
He was complimented for his voice as well as his enthusiasm. “That audition was absolutely sensational.”
Not only did Howie Mandel praise the singer’s radiant spirit, but he also praised her grin. There are individuals in this room as well as those at home who are talking about this moment. They want nothing more than for this moment to take place. Mandel stated, “You want to leave a footprint,” as he got up on the judges’ table and, sure enough, left his mark on the golden buzzer. He then proceeded to leave his imprint.
