On Britain’s Got Talent, a member of the Kabin Crew from Cork stunned the judges with an original song about living in a wheelchair. This performance has garnered accolades for the Kabin Crew member’s performance.
The 19-year-old Jamie Forde sang the song “Life in a Wheelchair” during his audition for the talent competition that was hosted by Simon Cowell. A sample of the song was shared on various social media platforms. The native of Farranree is already well-known in the music industry for his work with Kabin Crew, a band that rose to prominence in the previous year with the release of their song “The Spark,” which went viral all over the internet.
The youngster was able to continue to the following round when all four judges gave their approval to Jamie’s rap about his experience using a wheelchair. Simon Cowell has been quoted as saying, “I really like you, and people will remember you for all the right reasons.” I absolutely like the way you carry yourself.
The young guy received a lot of praise in the comments section of the TikTok video that was uploaded to the platform after the performance was captured on tape. “Isn’t this one of the guys from the Kabin Crew?” inquired one of the individuals asked. I can’t believe he happens.
An other person chimed in, saying, “Go on, Jamie, represent the Irish.” Miriam Mullins, an influential person from Cork, made the following comment: “Amazing, Jamie, well done!” The accomplishments of Jamie are certainly becoming a source of pride for Cork.
“It’s just great that the world gets to see the great work that’s going on in the Kabin, and the fact that rap and hip-hop are used for something very positive and very powerful, bringing to light the struggles that Jamie has experienced being in a wheelchair,” Gary McCarthy, a music producer and youth workshop facilitator, said in an interview with The Echo. McCarthy took the opportunity to express his happiness over Jamie’s accomplishments.
Immediately after the announcement that Kabin Crew and Lisdoonvarna Crew had been awarded the Choice Music Prize for Irish Song of the Year for their viral blockbuster song, The Spark, this news appears. A youth music facility that is not for profit and located in Knocknaheeny, which is on the north side of Cork City, is called The Kabin Crew. Musicians, rappers, composers, creatives, and volunteers of varying ages make up the members of this collective.
