The celebration was packed with gold chains and even featured a full-on Parker McCollum karaoke session.
Anyone claiming to be Parker McCollum’s biggest fan might have to hand over the title to four-year-old Jaxon, who recently marked his birthday with a full-blown Gold Chain Cowboy-themed bash.
His mom, Dianne, posted a heartwarming video of the festivities on TikTok, where it quickly racked up nearly 80,000 views. The clip shows little Jaxon—also known as Jax—standing proudly in front of a massive banner showcasing McCollum’s 2021 debut album, *Gold Chain Cowboy*, with a shiny gold chain balloon floating overhead.
Wearing a button-down shirt, black cap, and signature gold chain, Jax jammed on a mini black guitar and sang out the chorus of “What Kinda Man” into a golden microphone with all the confidence in the world.
After seeing the video go viral, we caught up with Jax’s mom, Lana, to hear more about how they pulled off such a creative tribute to the Texas country music star.
“For months, Jax was set on having a Parker McCollum birthday,” Lana explained. “I went with the *Gold Chain Cowboy* theme because he loves that album.”
The party didn’t stop at decorations. Guests enjoyed hours of kid-led karaoke featuring Parker McCollum’s hits, a custom cake, BBQ, and brownies—foods Lana found while researching McCollum’s favorites. Attendees even received gold chains as party favors to get into the spirit of the “Handle On You” singer.
Jax was also adamant that every gift relate to his country idol. He ended up unwrapping two gold chains, a golden mic and stand, white shirts like Parker’s, a black guitar, posters, boots, a Parker McCollum cap, and even a burned-up shirt reminiscent of McCollum’s look in the “Burn It Down” video. That shirt came from his preschool teacher, who also gifted him a red Fresh Western hat—which he reportedly wore nonstop for days.
Though McCollum couldn’t make the party in person, Lana made sure her son felt like a star. “I ordered his new CD that came with a signed insert addressed to Jaxon Williford from Parker McCollum. So in his eyes, Parker sent him a birthday gift because he couldn’t be there,” she said.
The party was a meaningful milestone, especially since Jax has loved McCollum’s music since he was just one, listening in the car with his dad. His obsession only grew. In the lead-up to the new self-titled album’s release, Jax memorized the songs within a week—just on the way to daycare.
Now, Jax performs daily concerts at home, inspiring even his 2-year-old sister to take an interest in music. His top favorite songs right now? “Burn It Down,” “What Kinda Man,” “To Be Loved by You,” and “Sunny Days.”
Though he hasn’t seen McCollum live yet, that’s about to change—Lana revealed they’re planning to attend the September 6 concert in The Woodlands, Texas. It will be Jax’s very first country music concert, and it’s shaping up to be a moment he’ll never forget.
