Rosie O’Donnell recently gave fans a rare and touching glimpse into her relationship with her daughter Chelsea and grandson Atlas. On July 8, 2025, she posted a screenshot from a FaceTime call, showing a smiling Chelsea holding Atlas, with Rosie’s own happy face visible in the corner. She captioned the image: “chelsea atlas and me #welldone,” prompting a wave of supportive comments from fans hopeful about their reconciliation.
The photo represents a significant step forward in what has been a turbulent relationship. In late 2024, Chelsea, now 27, faced a string of legal troubles, including three arrests in Wisconsin. She later pleaded guilty to charges involving meth possession, violating bail conditions, and obstructing law enforcement, receiving six years of probation. Two other charges were dismissed.
Following the incidents, Rosie publicly removed Chelsea from her $80 million will, and Chelsea legally changed her last name to Neuens, her biological mother’s surname. Despite the rift, Rosie later shared that Chelsea had entered a drug rehab program and commended her for making progress in her recovery.
Meanwhile, Rosie made a major life change of her own, relocating to Ireland in 2024. She cited safety concerns for both herself and her youngest son, Clay, who is autistic. Since the move, she’s spoken fondly of Ireland and its people, describing them as kind and humorous.
Rosie also teased new plans on social media, mentioning upcoming live broadcasts on the platform Substack: “Check me out on #substax… gonna go live there soon.”
Though small, the FaceTime image signals a meaningful step toward reconciliation. Despite past struggles, Rosie and Chelsea seem to be slowly rebuilding their connection, showing that family bonds can survive even through the most difficult times.
