Within the context of the lie detector test, she was also unsuccessful in answering two of the “critical” questions about her role in Coleman’s fall.
The choice that Shannon Price made to terminate the life of her ex-husband Gary Coleman is being discussed as she opens up.
Pricing said that she “had no choice” to remove the actor off life support in the forthcoming A&E show titled “Lie Detector: Truth or Deception.”
During the broadcast, she made the assertion that “he had gone into cardiac arrest, and that was ultimately what took his life,” as reported by PEOPLE.
In May of 2010, the television personality from the 1980s was put in a coma that was caused by medical professionals after she suffered an intracranial hemorrhage as a result of an accident. Price then took the choice to remove him off life support two days after the first decision was made.
When Price was asked by the presenter, Tony Harris, whether there was any potential of granting Coleman further time, she responded by denying that there was such a possibility.
“Thursday I go visit him, speak with the doctors, and they are like, ‘Shannon, we do not think that he is going to make it until Friday,'” she said further. The meaning of this is that his condition is not going to improve in any way. The choice that I made was the best one.”
“I asked the questions, and I saw the condition he was in,” Price recounted as he reflected on the situation.
I simply knew,” she said. “I had no idea.” “You might say that he had all but vanished. I then said, “Alright, to what extent are his eyes dilated?” And they responded with a “Yes.” Then I responded by saying, “Okay, can I see?” They demonstrated it to me, and that is when I first became aware of it.
In addition, she said that this was a “regret” of hers, along with “divorcing him.” She said that she was unable to save his life.
It was the fact that the couple had divorced that was the source of the controversy that surrounded Coleman’s death. The hospital was ignorant of this information, which led to the uproar.
“Doctors at the hospital assumed Shannon was still married to Gary when in fact they had been divorced in secret,” said Harris in an interview. “Shannon presented a document at the hospital naming her as the decision maker on Gary’s advanced medical directive, giving her the right to make decisions about his end of life treatment and care.”
Both parties entered into a marriage contract in August of 2007, and they divorced the following year.
She was quoted as saying, “It was my decision, he did not want the divorce,” as reported by the press. I had just arrived home and was still there. All of my belongings were there, and we were still together. Everything was there.
Additional footage from the forthcoming episode was acquired by TMZ, and it revealed that Price did not pass a lie detector test.
George Olivo, a former FBI agent and polygraph expert, provided Price with the information that she had failed two of his “critical” questions, with the findings suggesting that she had engaged in some degree of lying.
It was then that he started to explain to her that the examination was connected to Gary’s tragic accident. Within the context of this examination, I posed the following pertinent questions to you: “Did you physically cause Gary’s fall?” Although you said that you did not, I also questioned you, “Did you physically cause Gary to fall on that particular day?” And you responded with a negative.”
Price was then questioned about whether or not she had any ideas about the outcomes. She remained calm in Olivio’s presence and simple said, “that’s false.”
“There are two things I know for sure Shannon,” Olivo responded. “One you were not completely honest with me yesterday during this polygraph session and two, the other thing I know that’s 100% certain that there is more to this story that hasn’t been told.”
