Massive Blaze Erupts at Dubai Skyscraper, All Residents Evacuated Safely
A major fire erupted around 9:30 p.m. on Friday at the 67-story Marina Pinnacle tower in Dubai Marina, which houses 3,820 residents. Dubai Civil Defence teams managed to fully extinguish the flames after six hours, with no injuries reported. All 764 apartments were evacuated without incident, and temporary shelter was provided for displaced residents.
Prateek M., an Indian resident, recounted escaping with his family through heavy smoke, saying, “We are safe, and that’s what matters.” Another resident, Raza, returned to find roads closed and assisted neighbors in securing transportation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though footage indicates it started on the upper floors. A previous fire in 2015 was attributed to a kitchen accident. Dubai’s RTA also suspended metro services nearby to facilitate the firefighting efforts.
