Thousands, including celebrities, participated in “No Kings” rallies nationwide over the weekend, a burgeoning movement aimed at contesting the immigration policies of President Donald Trump’s administration.
On Saturday in Los Angeles, Jimmy Kimmel participated in the demonstration with his parents, posting a picture on Instagram and commending the “inspiring and peaceful” attendance. I encountered several individuals who believe that our nation may serve as a force for good. I am most thankful for my parents, who instilled in me the importance of caring for others.
Kerry Washington further shared, captioning her images: “#NoKings, just some QUEENS… advocating for democracy.”
Glenn Close participated in rallies in Montana and shared a video expressing her sorrow for the fatal shooting of Minnesota legislators. The actress advised her fans, “We must not succumb to fear,” while encouraging Americans to be resilient in the face of tragedy.
