Benny Blanco is “praying daily” to become a father.

In an exclusive interview with InStyle, the 37-year-old record producer expressed his want to have children. Blanco, now engaged to actress Selena Gomez, expressed to InStyle his affection for children and his aspirations to become a father in the future.

“I have a profound affection for children; I relish my role as an uncle,” he conveyed to the publication. I aspire to become a father, circumstances permitting. I am constantly dreaming and praying each day. The 32-year-old actress from Only Murders in the Building expresses her fiancé’s enthusiasm for parenthood. During the March 24 episode of the Jay Shetty Podcast, the pair, who announced their engagement in December 2024, conversed about Gomez’s love for children after Blanco expressed his eagerness to eventually share their collaborative record, I Said I Love You First, with their future offspring.

Gomez said, “I am uncertain about the future, but I have a profound affection for children.” I have an 11-year-old sister whom I really cherish, Gracie.

I get great joy from eliciting laughter in youngsters; they possess an inherent sweetness. “I am unequivocally excited for that day when it arrives,” the singer said.

Gomez and Blanco first encountered each other in 2013 via Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, prior to their musical collaboration. Blanco co-produced the tracks “Kill Em With Kindness” and “Same Old Love” on Gomez’s 2015 album, Revival.

The Disney star was first associated romantically with Blanco, whose actual name is Benjamin Joseph Levin, in December 2023, and affirmed their love by liking fan account images on Instagram featuring the pair, even adding, “He is my absolute everything in my heart,” on one of them.

In an interview with Vanity Fair for its October 2024 edition, released on September 9, the alum of Wizards of Waverly Place said that she is unable to have children.

“I have never disclosed this before…but regrettably, I am unable to bear my own children,” Gomez said. I possess several medical conditions that jeopardize both my life and those of the baby. I needed to mourn it for some time.

Gomez has previously discussed her challenges with lupus, a condition with which she was diagnosed in 2015. In April 2020, she disclosed her bipolar diagnosis on an episode of Miley Cyrus’ Instagram Live program, Bright Minded.

She said, “[However] I am in a significantly improved position regarding that. I consider it a privilege that there are remarkable individuals willing to engage in surrogacy or adoption, both of which represent significant options for me.

“It instilled in me a profound gratitude for the alternative avenues available to individuals yearning for motherhood.” “I am among those individuals,” she added. “I am eager to see how that journey will unfold, although it will manifest somewhat differently.” Ultimately, I am indifferent. It shall belong to me. It will be my responsibility.
