David Alvarado and Brady, the dog that belongs to his family, have a very strong connection with one another, but things weren’t always like that.
In the year 2012, when Brady was only eight weeks old, the family decided to adopt him. Brady is a Dachshund mix. It was an unexpected litter that belonged to family friends who were looking for homes for the pups. He was one of the puppies. When David was younger, he was a little bit shy about dogs, and he first maintained his distance from them.
Nevertheless, as time went on and David and Brady grew up together, their bond flourished and developed into something more. According to Anissa, David’s mother, she has seen her son, who is now 18 years old, and her dog, who is 12 years old, become attached. In light of the fact that the Alvarados, who reside in Columbus, Georgia, are devoted followers of the New England Patriots, Brady, who was named after Tom Brady, is now one of the four dogs that the family has. He sleeps next to David every night, burying himself thoroughly behind the blankets.
“Brady has been of tremendous assistance to my son through the loss of his Abuelo in 2018, and again with the sudden passing of his grandmother in 2021,” Anissa, a mother of four, says in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE.
An additional statement that she makes is that “Brady is a funny and quirky little guy who is always making us laugh and lifting our spirits.” “He offers camaraderie that is entirely free of judgment. When you are feeling down, he is able to detect it and will often remain near to you, providing a gentle presence and love that helps reduce feelings of loneliness and loss.
Consequently, Anissa was not taken aback when she saw David getting ready for his recent high school graduation with Brady close by his side. This was something that she had been anticipating for quite some time. The mother, who is also employed as a special education teacher at a public middle school, was overcome with emotion at that same time and could not stop herself from crying. After pulling out her phone, she took a video of the adorable interaction that was taking on.

In a later time, she uploaded the video on TikTok. After seeing a film that was quite similar to it on the internet, she felt that it would be a nice remembrance of David and Brady, who had been a part of their family for such a long time.
On the other hand, the video suddenly became quite popular, accumulating more than 5.2 million views and more than 8,000 comments.
“Oh my goodness, his human is like a big boy now 💕.” Congratulations, graduate, and a job well done,” it was written by one of the users.
An further individual made a remark that said, “I have never witnessed anything more adorable than this.”
Someone another said, “It’s not me getting emotional 🥰\.”
“I couldn’t believe it,” she says. I imagined that only my immediate relatives and close friends would like the film that I had hurriedly put together at the last minute. It never occurred to me that it would win so much affection and attention in such a short amount of time.
When it comes to the comments, she goes on to say that “many people were sharing memories of their own pets who had lived an extended life.” A significant number of individuals have said that they were motivated to capture the lives of their dogs alongside their children as they grow up together.

After David has completed his high school education, Anissa informs her that he would be departing for the Marine Corps boot camp the next week. Given that Brady spends each night in David’s room, it is certain that he will miss him very much.
According to Anissa, “I really hope that people understand that pets are not just gifts or things to get rid of when they are no longer small.” “Being a pet owner requires a lot of love and effort. You need to treat them as if they were a member of our family because they are.
