Prince Louis Stuns with His New Role in the Royal Family

Prince Louis has always attracted attention during royal appearances with his playful behavior. Now seven years old, the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton once again caught the spotlight during the recent VE Day event. However, this time, it wasn’t just his antics that stood out—it was his behavior, which a body language expert suggests may indicate a new role in the royal family.

As the youngest sibling to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Louis is unlikely to inherit the throne. This has led to discussions about what future role he might take on. Prince Harry once expressed concerns in his memoir about Louis potentially becoming a “spare,” like himself. But reports indicate that William and Kate are mindful of this and are preparing Louis—and Charlotte—for meaningful, fulfilling futures, possibly outside full-time royal duties.

Royal commentator Jennie Bond previously noted that the Prince and Princess of Wales are raising their children with a modern approach. They aim to ensure Louis and Charlotte feel just as important and valued as George. Bond believes they’ll support Louis in exploring careers outside the royal sphere, such as the military or charity work, and likely encourage him to pursue higher education.

For his birthday on April 23, Kate released a new portrait and video of Louis, showcasing a growing, confident young boy. Royal author Phil Dampier described him as lively and charming, drawing comparisons to both his grandfather Michael Middleton and great-grandfather Prince Philip. Dampier also believes Louis may follow in William’s footsteps with a future in the armed forces.

At the VE Day celebrations, Louis’s confident demeanor once again stole the show. His energetic gestures and a moment where he copied his brother George’s hair-fixing move charmed many. But one moment in particular stood out—a subtle shift in family dynamics.

Body language expert Judi James observed that Louis might be stepping into a more responsible role within his family. She noted that while William and Kate once guided their children during public appearances, Charlotte later took on that role. Now, Louis seems to be taking the lead, reminding George how to stand correctly and even stepping forward to speak with Princess Anne.

James described this as a surprising development, highlighting a potential new “family prefect” role for Louis. She emphasized how he quickly corrected George’s posture during the military flyover, signaling a shift in the sibling dynamic. It used to be Charlotte guiding her brothers—now, it appears Louis is stepping up.
