Mary Trump, the niece of former President Donald Trump, has issued a stark warning about the potential future of the United States if her uncle remains in power. A longtime critic of Donald, Mary has distanced herself from the Trump family’s usual unity, most notably by publishing her memoir *Too Much and Never Enough*, which offered a harsh critique of the former president and his upbringing.

In light of Donald Trump’s return to the White House, Mary expressed deep concern, describing the current moment in American history as “uniquely dangerous.” According to *Newsweek*, she emphasized that Americans must begin to engage in new ways, suggesting that Trump’s second term could bring serious challenges.

Trump has already begun to make significant changes since retaking office. While some may see him as a force of energy and disruption, others question whether his leadership will bring progress or chaos. The real uncertainty lies in how long his second tenure might last.

Although the U.S. Constitution limits presidents to two four-year terms, recent speculation suggests Trump might attempt to remain in power beyond those limits. He has hinted at exploiting so-called “loopholes” that could allow him to seek a third term. While he publicly downplayed the idea of using such loopholes, his comments have raised concerns about his true intentions.

Mary Trump voiced her alarm during an interview with *The Telegraph*, warning that her uncle could try to hold onto power indefinitely. “It’s not a question of whether he’ll run again—it’s whether he’ll ever leave,” she said. “He could simply declare himself ‘president for life’ and dare anyone to stop him.”

She questioned the nation’s ability to enforce the 22nd Amendment if Trump refuses to step down, pointing out that the U.S. has never faced such a scenario. In her view, Donald Trump might be prepared to test those constitutional limits.

Mary concluded by saying that Trump is not an exception, but rather the result of decades of decline in the Republican Party, adding, “America has been broken for a long time, and Donald is just the inevitable outcome of that downward trajectory.”
