Billy Joel has announced that he has been diagnosed with a brain condition, leading to the cancellation of all his upcoming shows.

The musician disclosed on Friday that he is afflicted with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a neurological illness characterized by the accumulation of extra fluid in the brain’s ventricles.

Billy reports that his illness has worsened due to his recent musical appearances, resulting in difficulties with hearing, vision, and balance.

BJ reports that his physicians have recommended he pursue physical therapy and instructed him to cease performing throughout his recovery period.

Billy has not established a schedule for his return to the stage, stating, “I sincerely apologize for disappointing our audience, and I appreciate your understanding.”

Billy’s team has announced the cancellation of his gigs scheduled until July 3, 2026, and ticket refunds will be issued.

A source affiliated with Billy tells TMZ that he is adhering to his physician’s advice. His physician has recommended against his return to work at this juncture; yet, he is faring well and making progress.

Billy is reportedly aboard a yacht with his wife today in Florida and has already had surgery.
