Hayden Lee Davis apparently informed a friend that he “thought he was having a heart attack” just before his body was discovered after school. This occurred shortly before his death.
Davis, a student at Handy Middle School in Bay City, Michigan, who was 14 years old and in the eighth grade, was found unconscious by a neighbor on April 15 after he was left off at his bus stop. Davis was confirmed dead on that day.
According to the police records that were received by MLive and The Bay City Times via a request under the Freedom of Information Act, Davis was on his phone chatting to a buddy before to the incident that led to his fall. It was alleged that he said to his companion that “he thought he was having a heart attack.”
According to police documents that were acquired by MLive, it seemed that officers arrived at the location shortly before three o’clock in the afternoon. A team of firefighters had already arrived and were doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Davis. After being transported to McLaren Bay Region Hospital by EMS, the student was transferred there. Just over an hour later, he passed away.
Neighbors were questioned by the police afterward, and none of them reported seeing anything out of the ordinary.
According to MLive, Davis’ mother reported to the authorities that her son did not have any pre-existing medical concerns and did not routinely use any drugs. She informed them that Davis had a medical examination a year before he passed away, and that he was in good health.
Rick Seebeck, who was serving as the interim superintendent of Bay City Public Schools at the time, issued a statement on the evening of Davis’ death, stating that very little information were known about what had occurred. In a prior report, the CBS station WNEM said that Sgt. Ben Krzyminski, who works for the Bay City Department of Public Safety, did not feel that any kind of criminal activity was involved.

A toxicology report will be completed before the cause of death can be confirmed, despite the fact that an autopsy was performed on the deceased.
Individuals attempted to get in touch with the Bay City Police Department, but they did not get a response right away.
A GoFundMe campaign that was established by Davis’ aunt, Shavonne Doulas, in order to assist with covering the costs of the funeral has received more than $14,500.
“He was only 14 and was loved by so many,” Doulas said on the website. “People loved him so much.” During this time of mourning for the loss of their child, the family is looking for anybody who would be willing to make a financial contribution to assist pay some of the costs associated with the burial. Any and all support is much appreciated.
“This is a horrible tragedy for the family, and our entire school community is heartbroken for them,” Ben Tierney, director of communications and family engagement for the Bay City Public Schools, said in a previous interview with PEOPLE last month. He also mentioned that the district offered counseling support to both the staff and the students.
“After reviewing bus video footage, we can verify that the student entered and exited the bus without issue,” Tierney said at the beginning of April. “He was last seen by the driver walking home on a sidewalk. Later, a local resident discovered him unresponsive and called emergency services. He was found by the driver.” Investigations are still being conducted by our local department of public safety. At this time, we do not have any more information to provide.
