Most 16-year-olds don’t go viral at their school talent show—but Jared Watson isn’t your typical teen.

Living with spinal muscular atrophy and using a motorized wheelchair, Jared wowed the audience with a moving rendition of Randy Travis’s “I Told You So,” accompanied by his dad on guitar.

Although he placed third, Jared’s performance quickly caught fire online—and even made its way to Randy Travis himself. The country legend’s wife reached out with a touching message: “Randy teared up when he heard it.”

Since that moment, Jared’s been featured on local TV, started recording music, and is now writing his own songs.

“I thought it was just another performance,” Jared shared, “but it’s become something truly life-changing.”

His father beamed with pride: “He’s always had a great voice—playing with him onstage was a dream come true.”

From chasing baseball dreams to commanding the spotlight—Jared could be country music’s next breakout star.
