The comedian Adam Sandler is thinking about an old pal.
In an emotional and amusing Instagram post, the actor, who is 58 years old, paid respect to Morris, the alligator actor who appeared beside him in Happy Gilmore. Morris passed away on May 11, and the actor paid tribute to Morris at the same time. As part of the post, Sandler posted a shot from the movie in which he had a confrontation with Morris using a golf club. He also reflected on the time they had spent together on the set of the movie.
I will miss you, Morris. He started out by saying, “Everyone is going to miss you.” “You could be hard on directors, make-up artists, costumers — really anyone with arms or legs — but I know you did it for the ultimate good of the film.”
He proceeded by saying, “The day you wouldn’t come out of your trailer unless we sent in 40 heads of lettuce taught me a powerful lesson: never compromise your art.”
In addition, Sandler remembered that he and his cold-blooded companion had divided a Three Musketeers bar from craft service, and that Morris had given Sandler the larger portion of the bar. “That’s who you were,” he said further.

Morris’s character was beheaded in the 1996 comedy, which “precludes your participation in the sequel,” Sandler wrote. The actor remembered that following the gator’s on-screen death, Morris allegedly brought a fruit basket and a “hilarious note,” the actor reminisced. Sandler noted that this “precludes your participation in the sequel.”
“I will miss the sound of your tail sliding through the tall grass, your cold, bumpy skin, but, most of all, I will miss your infectious laugh,” Sandler said in his conclusion. “Thanks to Mr. Young for taking care of you all these years, and vaya con dios, old friend.”
On May 11, a post on Facebook from Colorado Gator Farm in Mosca, Colorado, made the announcement that Morris had passed away with the news. It was said in the post that Morris has been a resident of the park for the last 19 years and that he was the oldest alligator that was brought to the farm.
“His exact age was unknown, but he was 9 feet long in 1975, and by his growth rate and tooth loss, we can estimate his age at over 80 years,” according to the notice posted on Facebook. “Although we were aware that this was unavoidable, we are very sorry by the fact that he has passed away due to old age. So long, Morris.
