We do not have any issues with James Van Der Beek’s most recent job, which is titled “Your Honor!”
The 48-year-old actor stated on Thursday, May 15, that he has been cast in a recurring guest role in the new Elle prequel series, which is a continuation of the Legally Blonde spin-off series.
Van Der Beek created a post on Instagram in which he shared photos of an article published by Deadline. The story described his persona as Dean Wilson, who was described as “the city’s new Mayoral candidate and current school district superintendent.”
“All right, this is exciting… “I’m going to report to work for a short while,” he wrote. “I am beyond ecstatic to be a part of this incredible cast in such an enjoyable production. “I am almost as excited as my wife and girls are about the fact that I am going to be doing this 😍 #LegallyBlond #Elle”
The fact that his wife Kimberly, with whom he has six children, expressed how glad she was to see her husband become a part of the Legally Blonde world was shown by her reaction. “Annabel and I were in desperate need of this!” she said.
Fans also flocked to the comments section to express their congratulations to Van Der Beek. One person said, “One of my favorite actors in the prequel to one of my favorite movies?? Thank you very much! ❤️
The declaration made by another individual was, “We desire a significantly greater quantity of the Beek 🙌❤️.”
Some people seemed to interpret the revelation as an indication that the Dawson’s Creek star was making progress in his battle against cancer on the whole.
Someone commented, “I am so happy that you are feeling as though you are able to go to work.” This is a really fascinating matter.

The news that Van Der Beek had been diagnosed with colon cancer and was now receiving treatment was disclosed to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that took place in November. During that period, he said that he was putting his family first while yet continuing to work whenever he had the opportunity.
He made the observation that “there is reason for optimism, and I’m feeling good,” despite the fact that he has kept the majority of the information on his health secret during the last several months.
Elle, which was produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine media firm, was given the go-ahead by Prime Video in May of 2024. Although she is also serving as an executive producer for the spinoff, Witherspoon is most known for her role as Elle Woods, a resolute Harvard Law student, in the original Legally Blonde films, which were released in the early 2000s.
During that time, she issued a statement in which she said, “Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do.”
Then, in February, she disclosed that she had, in fact, discovered the one who would portray her little version of herself. The moment she made the proposition to actress Lexi Minetree was recorded on film and uploaded to Instagram immediately after.

During the time when footage of Witherspoon’s recreation of Elle Woods’ Harvard submission video was playing on the screen, she informed Minetree, “Your audition tape was amazing, as we talked about.” There was a choice that needed to be made the other day that was quite challenging, and we wanted to inform you in person since you have recently put in a lot of effort.
“We just wanted to tell you that you don’t have to audition anymore because you got the part,” the Oscar winner said to Minetree before imparting the good news. “We just wanted to tell you that you got the part.” You identify as Elle Woods!
“Are you serious? Could I just give you a hug? Witherspoon was asked by Minetree, who was suitably dressed for the occasion in a bright pink shirt and pink shoes. This question was posed before the two of them hugged one other while crying.
In addition to Minetree and Van Der Beek, the cast also includes June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, and Zac Looker as series regulars. Jessica Belkin, Logan Shroyer, Amy Pietz, Matt Ober, Chloe Wepper, David Burtka, Brad Harde, Kayla Maisonet, and Lisa Yamada are members of the cast who appear on a recurring basis.
