In a heartfelt demonstration of their love for their daughters who had passed away, Sergio Aguiar and David Stancombe ran the 26.2-mile race on Sunday, April 27. Their goal was to raise money for charitable organizations.

Following the completion of the marathon, Aguiar was seen wearing a jersey that included an image of his late daughter Alice Dasilva Aguiar, who was nine years old at the time. In memory of his daughter and another victim of a stabbing, Bebe King, who was six years old, the shirt carried details for a GoFundMe campaign that aimed to generate funds for the construction of a playground at Churchtown Primary School.
Upon the conclusion of the race, Stancombe was seen on camera giving a thumbs up expression. Like Aguiar, he donned a white shirt that promoted the charity trust known as Elsie’s Story, which was established in memory of his late daughter Elsie Dot Stancombe, who was seven years old.

At a dancing lesson with a Swift theme that was held at The Hart Space community center in Southport, England, on July 29, 2024, David’s daughter Elsie, Sergio’s daughter Alice, and King were all tragically murdered.
After confessing to his part in the assault that resulted in the death of a person, Axel Rudakubana, who was 18 years old at the time, was given a sentence of life in prison with a minimum of 52 years, according to a news statement issued by Merseyside Police.
