Eric Dane is sharing a scary diagnosis … revealing he has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis … also known as ALS.

The “Euphoria” and “Grey’s Anatomy” star told PEOPLE about his diagnosis with ALS, telling the outlet … “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.”

In spite of the diagnosis, Eric has said that he intends to continue working in the entertainment industry. Furthermore, he has stated that he would be returning to the set of “Euphoria” the following week to begin shooting the new season. Monday is the day when production on the HBO series is all set to get underway.

Due to the fact that his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, just last month filed legal documents requesting a dismissal of the divorce petition she filed in February 2018 to end what had been 14 years of marriage, it is noteworthy that ED is mentioning his family in this context.

According to the Mayo Clinic, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a disease that damages nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It is a progressive condition that worsens with time and results in a loss of control over the muscles.
