A dark family secret was recently disclosed by Ellen DeGeneres, who expressed the hope that her unreserved disclosure may assist others who are going through the same thing.
According to the comedian, she is “furious at people who don’t believe” and expresses her desire to have been protected when she was a child who was defenseless.

After overcoming the obstacles that stood in her way, Ellen DeGeneres, who was born in Louisiana, became the center of attention in the late 1970s.
During the year 1986, the talk show presenter was given her big break when she did a stand-up routine on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. This led to other appearances on late-night programs, club engagements that were consecutive, and parts on television series.
The comedienne, who is now 66 years old, won her first regular small-screen employment in 1989, when she was recruited as a cast member on the short-lived sitcom Open House. In 1994, she became the lead of the comedy series These Friends of Mine, which was eventually renamed Ellen.
When I was reading the script, I couldn’t help but chuckle out loud. According to the well-known host of an award presentation, who was interviewed by the New York Times in 1994, “I knew what I could do with it.” “I wanted to put on a show that everyone talks about the following day,” I said.
A beginning for a conversation
The next day, as well as each day that followed, everyone did speak. As a matter of fact, the discussion became more heated once she revealed her sexual orientation as a lesbian on Ellen and in real life.
She confessed that she was in a relationship with actress Anne Heche in the same year that the program was canceled in 1998, despite the fact that she was heartbroken to see it come to an end.
“As I looked across the room, I saw the most beautiful lady I had ever seen in my whole life. Ellen DeGeneres was the name of the woman. During their first encounter, Heche said that the comic had an air of radiant energy. “I believe that there are particular points in people’s life when they simply exude an energy and a glow of fabulousness. That was her, by the way!

The relationship between the two individuals came to an end in the year 2000, and not long after that, Heche revealed some terrible truths from her background.
During an interview with Barbara Walters in the year 2001, Heche said that she had been subjected to sexual abuse at the hands of her father, which began when she was only a little child.
“He raped me,” revealed the actor who had won several awards and who passed away in August 2022 at the age of 53 as a result of a terrible vehicle accident.
Due to the fact that it is simply recollection, I believe that it is always difficult for youngsters to speak about abuse. I did not bring a tape recorder with me at all times… I didn’t carve anything out of stone,” the actor who played the lead role in Wag the Dog claimed. “It is possible for anyone to look at you and ask, ‘Well, how do you know for sure?'” One of the most excruciating aspects about it is that it is so annoying. But you don’t.”
It wasn’t only Heche who went through the anguish and the uncertainty that followed her confession; other people did as well.
“Ignorant of other people”
“I am furious at people who don’t believe it and who say, ‘How do you not remember exactly what day it was?'” I am a victim of sexual assault, and I am particularly angry at those who say this. DeGeneres said this to Savannah Guthrie of Today in the year 2018. It seems that you do not recall such events. Not only do you recall what took place, but you also remember where you were and how you felt at the time. “That is what you recall,” you said.
The lady had previously discussed her experience with Busy Phillips on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (2003 to 2022). Busy Phillips was asking the woman about her experience.
The actress and television celebrity Phillips said that she was the victim of sexual assault when she was just 14 years old.
As a response to Phillip’s revelation, Ellen DeGeneres said, “When I was 15 years old, I experienced something that changed my life… Anyone who has ever been through anything that has happened to them knows how frustrating it is when someone doesn’t believe you or asks, “Why did you wait for such a long time?” She continues by saying, “It’s because we’re girls, and we’re taught not to say anything and to go along with it.”
Even though she was a vegan and an animal activist at the time, Ellen DeGeneres only talked briefly about her encounter. However, after a year had passed, she finally spoke out about the “very bad man.”
While being interviewed by David Letterman for an episode of his program My Next Guess Needs No Introduction, which is available on Netflix, Ellen DeGeneres, who has been married to the actress Portia de Rossi since 2008, said that the abuse began when she was perhaps 15 or 16 years old.
Her mother underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer, and her former stepfather allegedly exploited this knowledge to sexually attack her. She said that her mother had both of these procedures.
“When she was out of town, he told me that he’d felt a lump in her breast and needed to feel my breasts,” a lady who was crying told Letterman. “He told me that he needed to feel my breasts.” He was able to persuade me that he must have the opportunity to feel my breasts, and then he attempted to do it once again, and then once more, and then once more.
When DeGeneres eventually had the strength to tell her mother the truth about the attacks, her mother refused to accept what she was saying. Initially, DeGeneres avoided telling her mother about the assaults altogether.
“I should have never done anything to protect her. She stated, “I should have protected myself, and I didn’t tell her for a few years, and then I told her,” referring to her mother, who continued to be married to the monster for another 18 years. She did not trust what I said… And ultimately decided to get away from him because he had altered the narrative so many times.
In reference to the trauma that she has endured throughout her whole life, Ellen DeGeneres, who has continued to provide care for her mother throughout the years, says, “I didn’t really let it get to me.” I used to say things like, “I wish I would have been better taken care of.” but that changed not too long ago. I really wish that she had believed what I said. And she is sorry for what she did, but, you know.”
We hope that Ellen DeGeneres and all of the other individuals who speak out will serve as a source of motivation for those who choose to stay quiet.
