Oh my goodness, Daniel was on the verge of choosing to perform a song by Nathan Sykes rather of Labrinth’s Jealous… (Photo: WENN)
It is possible that he will be remembered as the act who brought tears to Simon Cowell’s eyes during his audition for The X Factor; yet, hopeful Josh Daniel nearly chose to perform a completely different song during his audition.
Examining Oneself in the Mirror It was revealed by Josh’s friend Kerrianne Covell, who had made it to the judges’ homes round of the ITV series in 2014, that Josh had really been considering singing another song, but he ultimately decided to sing Labrinth’s Jealous after playing it for her and her friend Liv Quantrill.
Kerrianne recalls that Josh had planned to perform a rendition of Nathan Sykes’s song “Kiss Me Quick.”
While we were at the dance studio, Liv made the statement, “I don’t think that can be the song.” What additional songs do you have in your repertoire?
According to my understanding, Jealous was his fourth option. It was important to him that he not sound too much like Labrinth.
In spite of this, the two were able to convince him to alter his mind after being blown away by a performance in which he sang while kneeling on the floor.

According to what I mentioned, there is no doubt about that. When Kerrianne stated, “If you are able to touch the hearts of people like you just did with us, just kneeling on the floor, then it is absolutely necessary for that to be the one.”
It was a couple of days before his audition, and he called to inquire about the possibility of altering the song he was going to perform.
Josh disclosed on the performance that he was performing on Sunday night that he was dedicating the song to his buddy Tom Woolley, who passed away in 2013 at the age of only 18 years old.
The audience saw Simon, whose mother Julie Brett had passed away only a short time before the auditions started, grow clearly emotional as the performance progressed. Later, he was whisked away in a golf cart while Cheryl F-V and Nick Grimshaw were left wondering what to do.
