It is estimated that around one in every five couples would, at some point in their life, struggle to conceive a child. As others can attest, this is a period that is highly challenging and stressful for many people; yet, patience and dedication may prove to be beneficial in the long run. Desiree and Ryan Fortin waited patiently for a number of years until, at some point, the couple decided to explore the possibility of in vitro fertilization. In the hopes that it might assist them in becoming pregnant, they prayed to God.

Eventually, not too much time had passed after the IVF procedure when they received the news that Desiree was expecting a child. But the pair was never able to anticipate what was going to happen within her tummy… Desiree Fortin and Ryan Fortin, who had been college sweethearts, have been blissfully married since 2009. However, there was one thing that did not exactly work out for them: for a considerable amount of time, they had a difficult time conceiving a child.

Desiree was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypothyroidism, and low progesterone by her medical professionals. As a result, she and her husband attempted to conceive for a period of three years, which was a lengthy and difficult process. Eventually, they decided to try in vitro fertilization. Nevertheless, Desiree had her menstruation on many occasions, which prevented her from receiving positive pregnancy tests. It was a task that was intellectually taxing to do. In her writing, she described those challenging years by saying, “It wasn’t just that I couldn’t get pregnant.”

[The inability to conceive] caused me to weep more tears than I ever imagined I would be able to… Having repeatedly received negative results from my pregnancy tests, I found myself lying on the floor of my restroom, feeling completely empty. When you are infertile and you seek fertility therapy for assistance, you are going to have to put up with painful injections, bruises, and a wide variety of medications. This is what you are going to have to go through. [It is] not only costly but also psychologically, emotionally, and physically draining.

The moment that Desiree and Ryan were finally informed that their first IVF procedure had been successful, it is easy to comprehend the level of excitement that they felt. In addition, when they viewed the ultrasound, they were unable to believe that there were not just one but three kids developing inside of them! As it turned out, the couple was going to be blessed with triplets – speak about a successful pregnancy! On the other hand, Desiree and her family were not yet free from their struggles. Despite the fact that she had at long last been pregnant, the medical professionals cautioned her that she would not be able to bring all of the triplets to term.

It was her first pregnancy, and she remembers being told, “I was too thin, too short, and it was my first pregnancy.” “However, my hope wounds demonstrated that she was incorrect.” During the summer of 2015, the Fortin triplets were brought into the world. At the age of 34 weeks and one day, Desiree gave birth via a cesarean section. The couple was overjoyed to celebrate the arrival of their three children, Sawyer, Jack, and Charlize, all of whom weighed more than five pounds apiece.

My delivery day is one that I will never forget. There were unanticipated twists and turns, as is the case with anything that involves parenting. Following the delivery of the triplets, Ryan accompanied them to the neonatal critical care unit, while I was sent to the recovery area, as Desiree said in an interview with Today. Due to the fact that Desiree struggled with problems and bleeding, she was forced to have emergency surgery. As a result, she was unable to see her cherished children straight away.

However, Ryan kept in touch with her over FaceTime so that the new mother could see her tiny miracles. All three infants were allowed to return home and begin their lives after spending two weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Having three children and being able to settle down at home was a wonderful gift for Ryan and Desiree. Although we are fortunate, becoming a parent is not only a challenging work but also a profession that comes with the biggest of responsibilities: taking care of young people.

Multiple instances of severe reflux and colic are seen in our infants. In the midst of screaming kids, sleepless nights, and a new schedule, it is challenging to establish a routine, and it is much more challenging to preserve your relationship,” Desiree added. As of now, the triplets are seven years old, and it seems that the whole family is doing quite well. Desiree’s Instagram profile, where she has more than one hundred and fifty thousand followers, is where you can follow their lives and experiences. God’s use of our narrative to reach such a large number of people was something I never envisioned. The experience has been nothing short of extraordinary,” she adds. Additionally, she disclosed that she and Ryan are expecting another child with that statement! It won’t be long until this lovely family reaches the age of six!
