The circumstances of Tanna Rae Wroblewski’s loss have been disclosed.

The baby, who was just four months old when she passed away, was found to have passed away of issues related to ambient heat exposure, according to PEOPLE. The baby had passed away after being subjected to excessive temperatures when she was on a boat with her family on Lake Havasu in Arizona during the summer of 2017.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office sent a statement to PEOPLE on Monday, March 5, confirming that the infant passed away after losing consciousness at around five o’clock on Friday, July 5, 2024. The birth occurred on Friday.

According to the findings of the medical examiner, the loss of Tanna Rae was determined to be the result of an accident that was brought on by her exposure to increased ambient temperatures, which were assessed to be 120 degrees. Hemorrhagic shock, anoxic brain damage, and dehydration were all symptoms that the infant experienced as a consequence of being exposed to the heat of the environment.

In accordance with the New England Journal of Medicine, hemorrhagic shock occurs when “severe blood loss leads to inadequate oxygen delivery at the cellular level.” As a result of the anoxic brain damage, cerebral edema developed. This indicates that the brain of the newborn did not get oxygen, which led to the brain swelling as a possible consequence.

The dehydration resulted in a decrease in fluid intake and output, a flattening of the fontanelles, which are the soft spots on the skull of a newborn, and a sudden drop in blood pressure that led to their being unconscious.

It was reported on a GoFundMe page that was established for the Wroblewski family that members of the family conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the newborn before the Lake Havasu City Fire Department arrived at the site. Following that, Tanna was taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center by first responders, as stated in the statement released by the MCSO.

CPR was done on the newborn by a relative for a period of five minutes before to the arrival of first responders, as stated by the medical examiner. Prior to her being transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the first responders also conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), however she was subsequently declared passed .

On Sunday, July 7, Alyssa, Tanna’s mother, wrote a touching tribute to her late daughter on Facebook from an account that has since been banned. The message was made from a place that was no longer accessible.

The angel that we had in our lives, Tanna Rae, has now become an angel in paradise. We are utterly disappointed and distraught; there are just no words to express how we feel. When our lovely daughter passed away on July 5, 2024, she offered us her final smiles, and we gave her our final kisses. “We would appreciate it if you could pay us a visit, baby girl 🦋🪻,” she wrote at the time.

“I will never understand why you had to leave us, you were just too perfect,” she said. “I will never understand why…” “I love you endlessly and I will look for you everywhere angel.”

With Tanna, who was born in March 2024, the family had been to Lake Havasu on many occasions since April, as seen by earlier entries on the family’s Facebook page.

Prior to the donation option being deactivated, the family’s GoFundMe page had already received a total of $49,135 in contributions.
