Ten individuals have been charged with the violent attack that murdered prisoner Robert Brooks, with six facing murder charges.

For the severe beating, Nicholas Anzalone, David Kingsley, Anthony Farina, Christopher Walrath, Mathew Galliher, and an anonymous defendant have been charged with second-degree murder.

Manslaughter charges have been filed against Michael Mashaw, Michael Fisher, and David Walters. Physical evidence tampering is alleged against Nicholas Gentile.

Nine of the nine accused arraigned Thursday pled not guilty. The 10th defendant was not arraigned today but is not a flight risk.

The New York State Attorney’s Office published terrible body cam video of the beating at the end of December, showing cops holding Brooks down while punching, kicking, and even hitting him with shoes.

The state attorney general said that Marcy Correctional Facility in Upstate New York police used “use of force” against Brooks, who was serving a 12-year term for first-degree assault.

He passed awawy in the early morning of December 10 at Utica’s Wynn Hospital, 7 miles distant.

Several cops who saw the beating have been accused of employing excessive force against detainees.
