According to Kadance Fredericksen’s mother, the young woman, who was competing in a beauty pageant at the age of 18, had ambitious goals for the future. She was tragically taken from this world earlier this week when she was involved in an automobile accident in Florida and passed away.
In an interview with People, Lisa Fredericksen, who is 48 years old, says, “She had the whole world right there in her hands, and she was ready to take it on.”
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, which did not identify the youngster by name, Kadance was driving in Santa Rosa County on Monday, February 17, when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. The causes for the collision are unclear. Her loss was confirmed at the site of the incident.
“She was literally three minutes from home,” Lisa recalls, adding that it is still unknown what led Kadance to detour in front of the truck. “She was literally three minutes from home.”
Lisa continues, “I have no idea what happened,” adding that she was not at home at the time of the accident. However, her eldest daughter, who lives next door, was the one who came to know about the collision from the authorities.
The inquiry is still being carried out.
Lisa legally adopted Kadance in 2017, and the desire to join the world of pageants came “after years of therapy,” according to the mother. Kadance had been abused when she was a young girl. Lisa adopted her in 2017.
“She came home one day and asked, ‘Mama, is it possible for me to compete in a beauty pageant?'” Because she continued to not speak a great deal, I responded by saying, “Well, yeah, but if you do a beauty pageant, you have to talk in front of people.” Lisa continues by saying that she did not talk a great deal.
And she was successful. She just wanted to have the appearance of a princess, so she went out and purchased the most hideous clothing she could find. She did not come out on top in any way,” Lisa continues. “But she was hooked.”

Following her participation in a different program that included a component of community service, her world once again became more accessible to her.
Lisa reports that Kadance started helping with the Ronald McDonald House, where she has volunteered for hundreds of hours and hosted an annual lemonade sale. Since 2017, she has earned more than $25,000 for the organization.
According to the website of the charity, she eventually established her own nonprofit called Kada’s Promise, which provides teddy bears and blankets to children who are in foster care, homeless shelters, abuse shelters, and hospitals.
Her Miss Florida and Teen Florida USA families will always remember Kadance, who not only competed for the title of Miss Florida Teen USA but also held the title of Miss Okaloosa County Teen.
Our community of pageants has suffered the loss of a lovely soul, a someone who was a genuine beacon of light in this world. They issued a statement in which they described her as “a leader among her pageant sisters, as well as ambitious, driven, and kind.” We want her family, friends, and everyone else who is grieving this terrible loss to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them. Our hope is that we will be able to honor her legacy by continuing to spread the light that she so effortlessly shared with the globe and with our Florida pageant community.
According to Lisa, who is also a mom to a boy who is thirteen years old, Kadance was “generous” and the “most kindhearted” person who “only wanted everybody to be happy.”
Lisa said that the young lady had been admitted to nine different universities and had expressed her desire to pursue a career in veterinary medicine as she contemplated the future beyond high school. In point of fact, Kadance had an interview for the presidential scholarship, which is a full-ride scholarship at Mississippi State University, and was given it only one day before the fatal accident.
