The last Black Sabbath reunion show will be led by Ozzy Osbourne at his own pace.
During his Ozzy Speaks feature on the SiriusXM station Ozzy’s Boneyard, the iconic rock star said that he won’t be playing a full set with Black Sabbath at their final comeback show in July, called “Back to the Beginning.”
“I don’t plan to do a set with Black Sabbath, but I am doing bits and pieces with them,” Ozzy, 76, told Billboard on Sunday, February 16. “I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”
“I am trying to get back on my feet,” the singer of “Crazy Train” said. “You just jump out of bed when you wake up in the morning.” I need to ground myself, but I’m not passed away. I’m still doing things right now.”
Even though Ozzy has had some health problems, he is still eager to put on a show for his fans, even if they should not expect too much.
It was only less than two weeks ago that his wife Sharon told The Sun that he can’t walk anymore because of Parkinson’s disease, which he was in 2003. She told the news source, “He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this.”
Parkinson’s is a disease that gets worse over time. That’s not something you can fix. “It hurts different parts of the body, and his legs were hurt,” Sharon, 72, said. “But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”
The last Black Sabbath show was announced in February. It will be on July 5 in Birmingham’s Villa Park.
“It’s time for me to start over…” “It’s time for me to give back to the place where I was born,” Ozzy said in a statement. “I feel so lucky to be able to do it with the help of people I love.” Birmingham is where metal really began. Birmingham for all time.”
Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon will all be on stage with Black Sabbath.
They will be joined by Slash from Guns N’ Roses, Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins, Jonathan Davis from Korn, Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit, Wolfgang Van Halen, and Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine.
