The gears began spinning to dissolve Tubi’s guardianship only a few hours after the documentary on Wendy Williams that was released on TMZ was delivered to Tubi.
Those who have inside knowledge of the situation told TMZ… Wendy submitted an affidavit to the court on Wednesday afternoon, requesting that she be released from custody. A statement made by Wendy in the affidavit indicates that she has “regained capacity” to operate without the assistance of a guardian.
In addition, Wendy states in the affidavit that she does not suffer from frontotemporal dementia, contrary to what previous medical professionals had said. We explain that frontotemporal dementia is a condition that never gets better in our video for Tubi, which is titled “TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy.” However, anybody who sees the documentary will notice that Wendy is in a lot better place than she was two years ago.
According to our sources, Wendy will undergo a reevaluation by a physician on the following Tuesday. The physician that Wendy will see was chosen by the attorney that Wendy has retained to terminate the guardianship. In addition, we have been informed that her attorney would submit an Emergency Order to Show Cause the following day. This is a petition that will be sent to the court who has the authority to terminate the guardianship.

According to what we have been informed, Wendy will want a jury trial in the event that the court does not grant her request to terminate the guardianship. The jury will assess whether or not Wendy has recovered the ability to govern her own life without the assistance of a guardian.
According to Wendy, who is featured in our documentary, she is unable to breathe fresh air, has no access to the internet, does not receive incoming phone calls, does not have guests, and is subject to a variety of other limitations.
On Tubi, you can watch “TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy” without having to pay for anything.
