The 63-year-old Back to the Future actress announced the birth of a daughter on Sunday, February 9. Madelyn Deutch, her eldest daughter, is 33 years old. Actress Zoey Deutch, who is also her mother, celebrated the birth of her niece with three Instagram Stories.
Thompson posted an Instagram carousel of the newborn’s pictures along with the endearing words, “Welcome to this crazy beautiful world little girl.”
“Robbie June Carlisle!” she added. Friends, I’m a grandma! My heart is humming with such delight and excitement. Maddie and Zach have my sincere gratitude and admiration for having the courage and fortitude to risk their love. ❤️ Zoey, Howie, and I are completely smitten.
“Congratulations, Maddie,” the actress went on. “My baby is a mama….”
Thompson and her husband, 74-year-old Pretty in Pink director Howard Deutch, have two children, Madelyn and Zoe, all of whom are 30.
picture after picture of baby Robbie cuddling with her parents (Madelyn’s husband, Zach Carlisle) and seeing her grandparents filled Thompson’s carousel. Zoey, the delighted aunt of the baby, posted a number of pictures to her Instagram Stories, one of which featured a sleeping Robbie with the message, “the literal love of my life, welcome to the world.”
Earlier that day, Madelyn posted on Instagram to introduce the world to her firstborn.
In addition to reporting that her younger sister snapped some of the first pictures of her daughter after Robbie’s arrival, she disclosed in the comment that the baby girl was born on Sunday, February 2.
The new mother went on to add, “Our rainbow girl,” with a photo of herself in a hospital bed with her child on her lap and her husband caressing the side of her face.
“We are so grateful to this magical being – and to our friends and family, for swaddling the three of us in so much unending love.”
