Angela Yang and Sean Kay, partners in youth ice dancing, were on the rise in their careers until they passed away in an aircraft accident in Washington, D.C. Friday night. Video footage of their magnificent last act is available for viewing.
Take a look at this… Two months before the tragedy on Wednesday, Angela and Sean took to the ice for the 2025 Midwestern Sectional U.S. Ice Dance Final. The teenage skaters delivered a lively dance that included a number of excellent spins, leaps, steps, and twists.
Judges were enthralled by the youthful talent, as Angela and Sean came away with first-place trophies in the competition.

In November, Angela even posted on Instagram to celebrate their major win, sharing photographs of herself and Sean smiling on the podium with their medals.
She added, “I am extremely delighted with our results in our first finals together! I would want to express my gratitude to @usfigureskating and @dallas_figure_skating_club for organizing this incredible event! @udfsc.”
However, the figure skating community is now grieving the death of these talented individuals, who were stolen from us before they could achieve even more success in their careers.

Angela and Sean were two of the 64 people who died after their American Airlines aircraft crashed with an Army Black Hawk helicopter on Wednesday evening. The flight was flying from Wichita, Kansas, to Washington, D.C.
Many well-known people from the world of ice skating were on the aircraft. Olympic hopefuls had competed in Wichita for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and many younger skaters were there as part of the National Development Camp that was conducted at the same time as the competition.
The mentorship program took held on Monday and Tuesday, after the conclusion of the Championships on Sunday. This is why many of the casualties onboard the airplane were young skaters, parents, and instructors.
President Donald Trump has said that the reason of the incident is not yet known, but a government inquiry is presently in progress.
