Reba McEntire is celebrating a significant event with Rex Linn!
On Thursday, January 23, McEntire, who is 69 years old, marked the five-year anniversary of her romance with her partner and Happy’s Place co-star Linn, who is 68 years old, by posting on Instagram.
The singer of “I’m a Survivor” posted a recreated replica of the first picture that Linn uploaded of the two of them together on Instagram when they started dating in 2020, along with the original shot.
The Grammy winner mentioned the important part that tater tots have had in her relationship in the post.
This week marks five years of tater tots! McEntire wrote, “❤️ #thetots #anniversary,” as a caption for a cute picture of her and Linn seated together at a table.
Annie Potts, who starred with McEntire and Linn in Young Sheldon, was one of their well-known acquaintances who congratulated them in the comments section, saying, “Happy Anniversary!” You two are a fantastic match for each other. ❤️❤️ JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who is a former cast member of Reba, also chimed on, saying, “Tater tots for life! 💕,” while Gwen Stefani reacted with four red heart emojis.
McEntire revealed that she and Linn became close over their shared love of tater tots when they reunited in 2020. They had initially met on the set of the Kenny Rogers film The Gambler in 1991. McEntire made her statement during a March 2023 visit on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The country singer said that her enthusiasm for ordering tater tots at a wine bar led to her being given a moniker that became popular very fast.
She told presenter Jennifer Hudson at the time, “Rex said, ‘That’s your nickname from here on out — Tater Tot.'” She also said that she refers to Linn as “Sugar Tot.”
McEntire went on to say, “We are the tots — sugar and tater.” We have been together ever since that time. He is a really kind person.
McEntire and Linn have been in a relationship for five years, and they are currently portraying co-workers on the set of NBC’s Happy’s Place. The CSI: Miami veteran told PEOPLE in October that, while the two maintain a professional relationship, they sometimes slip in a little bit of public display of affection while on site.
Linn said, “We are always running lines.” “But every now and then, I’ll sneak in for a quick kiss, just a peck on the cheek, and then keep going.” It is enjoyable.
