Julia Stiles and Larisa Oleynik are keeping it all in the family.
On Wednesday, January 15, the two actresses, who played the roles of Kat Stratford and Bianca Stratford in the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You, posed for pictures together at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City. They were there for a special screening of Wish You Were Here, which marks Stiles’ first time directing.
Stiles and Oleynik, both 43 years old, posed along with Stiles’ real-life sister, Jane Stiles, at the occasion. The three of them all smiled for the camera.
Stiles donned a smooth baby-blue gown, while Oleynik chose a black striped outfit to show her support for her friend’s most recent release.
The two were there to celebrate the premiere of Stiles’ most recent production, Wish You Were Here, which features Isabelle Fuhrman, Mena Massoud, Jennifer Grey, and Kelsey Grammer. Their on-screen connection goes back almost 26 years to their successful teen romantic comedy, which starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gabrielle Union, and the late Heath Ledger. In the movie, Gordon-Levitt plays Cameron, a high school student who is trying to find a romantic partner for Stiles’ character, Kat, while also hoping to date her younger sister, Bianca.
Stiles explained how she stays in contact with her former co-stars and said that she will be meeting up with her on-screen sister that night while talking to people at the event.
At that time, she added, “I know that Larisa Oleynik is going to be here tonight, and it will be great to see her.” “We kind of, you know, have a hard time keeping in touch with people, but we do it over text messages.”

At the time, Stiles also commented on her performance in the romcom, which she stated was the movie she’s most “recognized” for.
Stiles remarked, “I love that so much. There is something in the ether.” “I was a 17-year-old actress auditioning for roles, and I received a lot of annoying comments like, ‘You’re too serious,’ ‘You need to be sexier,’ or ‘Smile more.’ I was vulnerable to these comments because I was still trying to figure out who I was.”
She said, “After that, I read 10 Things I Hate About You, and Kat Stratford was this really bold and outspoken girl who didn’t care what other people thought of her.” “It was very important to me to be in that movie, and it is wonderful that it continues to resonate with people.”
Wish You Were Here, a movie that is based on Renée Carlino’s blockbuster book from 2017, is currently showing in cinemas.
