Jeff Baena, a filmmaker who was best known for directing films such as “Life After Beth” and “The Little Hours,” has passed away. He was also the husband of Aubrey Plaza. As TMZ has discovered.
A loss investigation was conducted at a residence in the Los Angeles region on Friday about 10:30 AM, according to sources inside the law enforcement community who spoke with TMZ. The assistant who found him passed was the one who initiated the inquiry.

The loss of Baena was confirmed at the scene, and law enforcement officials have said that he committed himself.
Following his graduation from New York University with a degree in cinema, Jeff relocated to Los Angeles in order to establish his career in the film industry. He began his career by securing lower-level employment with well-known filmmakers such as David O. Russell and Robert Zemeckis.
His collaboration with Russell resulted in the creation of four scripts, one of which being “I Heart Huckabees,” which starred Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin. This was the work that brought him to the attention of the public.

Around this period, Baena started concentrating on directing his own films, such as his debut feature film, “Life After Beth,” which was released in 2014 and featured John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, and Aubrey Plaza in the lead roles.
Baena is also the director of the film “Joshy,” which was released in 2016, “The Little Hours,” which was released in 2017, and “Horse Girl,” which is scheduled to be released in 2020.
As you are aware, Aubrey’s career began when she appeared in the program “Parks and Rec” in 2009, and she has since gone on to participate in projects like as “Emily the Criminal” and “The White Lotus.” In 2021, Aubrey informed her followers on Instagram that she and Jeff had married the wedding after dating for almost ten years.
We have attempted to get in touch with Aubrey’s representatives; however, we have not received any response as of yet.
Baena was 47 years old.
