The New York State Attorney General has revealed body cam evidence of prison officers viciously abusing a shackled inmate, who subsequently passed away. The tape shows cops pounding the bleeding guy repeatedly. The inmate died hours later.
The video shows Robert Brooks, a prisoner who is now serving a sentence of twelve years for first-degree assault, getting hit and kicked many times. Additionally, it looks that one of the men is using a towel to choke him against his will.
The videos that were published by the office of the attorney general reveal that more than one cop is holding Brooks down with his arms behind him as another officer repeatedly strikes him in the middle of his abdomen with a shoe. At a certain point, the cops raise Brooks up by his neck; however, he is covered in blood all over his face, and he is unable to even support his own weight.
The office of the attorney general has said that Brooks was involved in a “use of force” confrontation with prison personnel on December 9 at the Marcy Correctional Facility, which is located in the Northern New York region. The early morning hours of December 10 saw him passing away at Wynn Hospital in Utica, which is around seven miles distant. He was transferred there.

In an interview with TMZ, the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Daniel F. Martuscello III, said, “Watching the video evidence of Robert Brook’s life being taken left me feeling deeply repulsed and nauseated.” In the face of a heinous and horrible conduct that took a life without any justification, there is neither an explanation nor a reason. The kind of conduct that is being described cannot be considered normal, and I will not let it to be present inside DOCCS.
According to Martuscello, his agency intends to conduct an impartial investigation into this catastrophe, which promises to bring about institutional reform. According to Martuscello, among the measures that have already been implemented, thirteen of the individuals who were engaged in this event have been suspended, and one of them has resigned.
The commissioner concludes his remarks by informing us that this conduct was a murder, and that individuals will be held accountable for the consequences of their acts.
