Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance, and she was spotted out and about for the first time since her guardian said that she is “permanently incapacitated” as a result of early-onset dementia.

In the bright and beautiful city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the former television queen was seen smiling broadly as she relaxed in the backseat of a black SUV and placed an order at Sho’nuff Oysters.

The video was uploaded on Instagram by Antoine Edwards, a writer, who said that Wendy was accompanied by Travis Finnie, her nephew.

This is Wendy’s first public appearance since August, when she was seen shopping in New Jersey. It is also the first time that her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has filed court documents claiming that her mental health has deteriorated, citing early-onset dementia as the cause. Morrissey claims that Wendy is “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”

A legal struggle between Morrissey and the creators of the documentary titled “Where Is Wendy Williams?” is now continuing, and the court filing is a part of that dispute.

It was TMZ that told the tale… Back in February, Morrissey filed a lawsuit in an effort to prevent the distribution of the documentary. In spite of the legal turmoil, the documentary was finally shown on Lifetime. It focused on Wendy’s difficulties with alcohol and included a sequence in which she consumed an entire bottle of vodka within a short period of time.

Just one year after being put under legal guardianship to handle her health and money, Wendy was diagnosed with aphasia and dementia in May of 23. This was just one year after the placement of legal guardianship.
