An actor named Mark Withers, who was most known for his role as Ted Dinard in the first season of the Dynasty series, has passed away. He was 77 years old.

In an interview with Variety, his daughter, Jessie Withers, said that he passed away on November 22 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

According to Jessie, who spoke to the outlet about her father, “He confronted his illness with the same strength and dignity he brought to his craft, creating a legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication, along with his remarkable ability to make every role unforgettable.”

Mark’s lasting brilliance and passion to the profession will be lovingly remembered by his colleagues, friends, and fans alike, she said. “Mark’s legacy will live on in their hearts forever.”

The request for comment that was made by PEOPLE on December 7 was not immediately met with a response from a representative of Mark.

Having landed his career as a firefighter in the late 1970s, Mark went on to spend the next four decades working in the television business.

In addition to his role in Dynasty, Mark has had roles in a number of other television shows, such as Magnum, Private Investigator, The Dukes of Hazard, Wonder Woman, Dallas, and Days of Our Lives.

Later in his career, he appeared in a number of more modern television programs, including True Blood, Criminal Minds, Castle, and Stranger Things, among others.

According to IMDb, Mark’s most recent cinematic appearances were in two films that were just released in 2019.

According to Variety, Mark was able to get acting jobs in advertising for firms such as Folger’s Coffee, Tartar Control Crest, and American Airlines with the assistance of an agency in the early stages of his career.

Those who are left behind after Mark’s passing are his daughter and his wife, Haiyan Liu Withers. They have asked that any memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in addition to any other memorial contributions.
