Chris Stapleton is doing everything he can to aid a young woman who was the only person to survive a vehicle accident that took the lives of her family members. He is doing this in order to provide her some measure of solace.

Alex Moffett, 19, from Erie, Colorado, gave an interview to FOX 4 Kansas City in which he recounted how the country artist, who is 46 years old, took the time to surprise her this past summer. This was after she had lost three generations in a single day: her grandmother, her father, and her younger sister.

Alex Moffett, her sister Catherine Moffett, who is 16 years old, and their father, Derek Moffett, who is 55 years old, were driving together in June to see one of Stapleton’s gigs in the vicinity of Overland Park, Kansas. During their time abroad, the three individuals also made use of the chance to see Alex’s grandmother, Patricia Moffett, who is 83 years old.

According to what Alex shared with the TV station, “My grandma was taking us to Warrensburg because she grew up there, and at the same time, she just wanted to show us around.”

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the driver of the car that struck the family’s vehicle was 16 years old and had fallen asleep behind the wheel. The family had just finished eating lunch together and was nearing the crossroads of Missouri Highway 50 and Business Route 50 when the accident occurred.

At the site, both Derek and Catherine were found passed. After being evacuated from Warrensburg, Alex and Catherine were sent to the Research Medical Center in Kansas City for further medical treatment. Sadly, Catherine passed away some time after she had donated her organs.

After sustaining several fractures to her pelvis, ribs, arm, wrist, and orbital bones, as well as a punctured lung, Alex, who is 19 years old, has been on a long road to recovery. In addition, she has had to endure face reconstruction, elbow replacement, and wrist surgery.

Her physicians learned that the majority of the family vacation was spent attending a Stapleton performance, and one of her surgeons was able to get in touch with him and tell him about Alex’s experience.

Before presenting a startling revelation, she said, “We were supposed to just have a FaceTime with him, and they called and said that we are in really bad service, we’ll call you back in a few minutes.” She then proceeded to disclose a significant surprise.

It was only a minute later that we heard a knock on my door, and they had just entered the house.

The visit by the artist known for her song “Tennessee Whiskey” reportedly took place on Father’s Day, as stated by the newspaper.

While he was with the young man, Stapleton sang a song called “Traveller,” which he had written following the passing of his own father.

During the last moments of her interview, the student from Montana State University said that the forthcoming holidays may now be challenging for her due to the loss of her loved ones.

“Every time I look at a picture of my sister, my heart just stops for a moment,” she said before continuing. Simply processing it is a really difficult task. According to her, “My father was the best person in the world, and he was my best friend ever.”

In reference to the driver, the young person stated, “Obviously, he did not intend to kill three people, but he took my entire family away from me.” Subsequently, the young person went on to say, “Part of me wants his life to be over, and the other part of me wants him to just be able to go on and live a really good life and make something of it and make a difference in the world.”
