Patrick Mahomes was given a significant penalty for a game, but not for a play by the referees; in their opinion, the situation was far more concerning than the penalty itself.
In response to what the referees referred to as a “violent gesture” made at the conclusion of the game against Buffalo on Sunday, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs was given a fine of little more than $14,000.
Following the completion of a touchdown pass, Mahomes made the decision to celebrate by making a motion with his fingers that resembled the discharge of a pistol.

It is not the first time that PM has been criticised for his lack of sportsmanlike behavior; in December of last year, he was given a punishment of fifty thousand dollars for “verbally abusing” an official. It’s noteworthy to note that during that game, the Chiefs also faced off against the Bills, and they ended up losing.
Moving ahead in time to the previous Sunday, the Chiefs’ performance did not get any improvement as they were defeated by a score of 30 to 21. During the course of the season, this was the Chiefs’ first defeat.
Andrew Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, was fined one hundred thousand dollars for openly criticizing an official during the same game.
The good news for Patrick is that the fine is a chump change according to him.
