The Linda Ronstadt biopic that Selena Gomez is working on is still in the process of creating.

“That’s still happening, though I’m not sure when,” Jessica Gomez, who is 32 years old, said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that was published on Wednesday, November 20. “With Linda, I just found her to be so [compelling] once I met her and read two books, one of which I read over and over again,” I said.

Gomez continued their conversation by saying, “She had such an interesting perspective on life and music, and I really admired that.” She was never particularly bothered by the desire to be as successful, and she was always prepared to experiment with new things.

In January, it was announced that Gomez will play the role of Ronstadt, a great singer who is 78 years old, in the upcoming film directed by David O. Russell.

She stated on her Instagram Story, “I have no words to describe my heart for this project,” some weeks after she disclosed on the site that she was reading Ronstadt’s book Feels Like Home. “I have no words to describe my heart for this project.” Years of wishing that this goal will eventually become a reality for me. 💙 @lindaronstadtmusic, I love your heart and passion for music and how you live your life.

The film will be produced by John Boylan, who is Ronstadt’s manager, and James Keach, who previously directed the documentary Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice, which was released in 2019. However, the film does not yet have a title or any other casting has been announced.

Previously, in a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest in 2015, Gomez said, “It kind of reminds me a little bit of Linda Ronstadt, ’70s vibe.” “I was always told that I looked like her, and it was because of that that I started listening to her music,” she said.

Gomez is especially eager to concentrate on acting at the moment, despite the fact that she started out as a triple threat and achieved fame at an early age.

According to the actress Emilia Pérez, “acting is just such a rush,” she went on to say to THR. “I believe that is something that I have continuously desired. In spite of the fact that music will forever be a part of my being, I was never able to devote sufficient time to the area that I had first desired to work in.

In addition, she said, “I have been very strategic and have been making every effort to select projects that are going to be compelling and are not necessarily what people would envision me doing.” That is something that gives me a rush of excitement. On the other hand, it was hilarious dealing with Emilia since I was under the impression that it was going to be a film that was released in France.

At the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, Gomez and her three Emilia Pérez co-stars, including Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoë Saldaña, were duly honored with the prestigious title of Best Actress. Additionally, Gomez has being considered for a possible contender for an Academy Award, which would be her very first nomination.

“I had a lot of questions. I was thinking to myself, “Guys, why are we doing so many things right out of the blue?” Gomez shared her thoughts with the site, saying, “And everyone is just laughing because it’s doing well.” “I do believe that I am aware of what is obvious, what people might possibly want to see me doing, but sure enough, that has been the most difficult obstacle that I have encountered in my career as an actor, and it is probably one of the most difficult things to hear me say.”

The next thing that Gomez said was, “I have the impression that the roles would be very comparable to what I’ve played, which is a character who is more subdued and the underdog.” Because I have objectives of wanting to work with certain individuals, people who are on my dream board, I will put myself in that room anytime those possibilities happen, no matter what it takes. I adore those movies, but I also have aspirations of wanting to work with specific celebrities. And I will say, “Allow me to demonstrate to you that I am capable of doing it.”

Currently, Emilia Pérez is available to view on Netflix.
