Liam Payne’s family members attended his funeral to bid him farewell after his passing at the age of 31.
Karen and Geoff Payne, the parents of the singer, were captured in a photograph as Payne’s coffin was being carried into his private funeral in Amersham, England on Wednesday, November 20. They were captured holding back emotions.
The ceremony, which occurred over one month after Payne’s passing, was attended by only two individuals. Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik, his erstwhile One Direction bandmates, were also photographed at the funeral, as was Payne’s fiancée, Kate Cassidy.
Us Weekly had previously verified that Payne passed away on October 16 due to a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is survived by his parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, his elder sisters, Nicola and Ruth, and his seven-year-old son, Bear, whom he shared with his ex-wife, Cheryl Cole.
Liam’s family issued a statement to the BBC shortly after the news of his demise broke: “We are devastated.” Liam will eternally be enshrined in our hearts, and we will cherish his brave, humorous, and kind nature. As a family, we are providing the best possible support to one another and respectfully request privacy and space during this painful period.
