My first encounter with Kris was at the Troubadour club in Los Angeles, where he was playing. I was aware that he was a unique individual. Streisand captioned the image with the following: “Barefoot and strumming his guitar, he seemed like the perfect choice for a script I was developing, which eventually became A Star Is Born.”

In her conclusion, Streisand made reference to Kris Kristofferson’s wife, Lisa Meyers, whom he had married in 1983. She said, “My thoughts go to Kris’ wife, Lisa, who I know supported him in every way possible.”

Janet Gaynor and Fredric March starred in the first film of the same name, which was released in 1937. Streisand and Kristofferson’s version of the film was a remake of the original picture. In addition, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper recreated the film in 2018, and their rendition of “Shallow” was awarded the award for Best Original Song at the 2019 Academy Awards. Additionally, the song was awarded a Grammy and a Golden Globe.
