Over the course of his attendance at the San Sebastián Film Festival, Johnny Depp surprised everyone by paying a special visit.
On Thursday, September 26, Johnny Depp paid a visit to the youngsters of the Donostia University Hospital in San Sebastián, Spain, while dressed as his character Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean series. This information was shared on the social media accounts of the hospital. During his time away from the San Sebastián Film Festival, the actor, who is 61 years old, slipped into his old outfit. He is now in Spain for the festival.
Depp engaged in conversation and engaging in play with patients who were hospitalized to the pediatrics and oncology wards of the hospital. It was reported by the local daily El Diario Vasco that he never deviated from his persona when he was there and that he laughed with the youngsters.
On X (which was then known as Twitter), the hospital shared photographs that were taken during the actor’s visit.
According to the tweet that was made by the hospital, “From all of the staff of the Donostia University Hospital, we would like to express our infinite gratitude to Johnny Depp for his time, his support, and his energy, as well as to @sansebastianfes for having facilitated this visit.”
According to El Diario Vasco, Johnny Depp has already traveled for his role as Jack Sparrow to visit children’s departments in hospitals all over the globe. These hospitals include those in Vancouver, Paris, London, and Brisbane, Australia, as well as other places in the United States.
The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Dead Man’s Chest (2006), and At World’s End (2007) were all films that Depp appeared in as part of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. He also starred with Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley in these motion pictures.
