Especially in his role as a father, Andrew Keegan has a great deal of regard for educators.
The actor made a rare mention about his only kid, daughter Aiya Rose, during a Sabrina the Teenage Witch panel at 90s Con in Daytona Beach, Florida. He said that his daughter’s homework is now a touch above what he is able to assist her with.
“I have a daughter who is eight years old and is currently in the third grade,” said Keegan, who is 45 years old. “As we work on our assignments, I’m getting close to reaching my limit. Recently, I was working on my reading comprehension, and I was also working on my arithmetic.
“The teacher she has now is great,” he said at the panel that was conducted on Saturday, September 14th. “So I’m reliving it now, really having such an appreciation for teachers in general.”
Keegan is known to post pictures of his kid on social media on a daily basis. He and Arista Ilona welcomed their baby in 2016, after a labor that lasted for 77 hours.
After the birth of Aiya, Keegan described the process to PEOPLE as follows: “We started at home and then we went to the hospital.” When it comes to 77 hours like that, there is nothing reasonable about it. Keeping a supportive attitude throughout is all that is required, and there was a lot of going around in circles.
The actor from the film 10 Things I Hate About You continued by saying, “It’s a very animalistic thing that happens, so you just have to drop into your more natural state.” Let her go through whatever it is that she has to go through, and just be supportive through it all.
But in a split second, all is forgotten with just a single gaze. The expression “it’s worth it when you see her giggling and smiling at us” was used by Keegan in reference to their daughter. “You don’t even give it a second thought.”

Keegan sent out a Father’s Day message to his fellow dads on Instagram in June, in a post that included photos of himself and Aiya at the beach, on a boat and more.
“Happy Father’s Day to all the dads!” the Camp Nowhere star wrote. “Such a great week/weekend, Aiya finished 2nd grade and we had a couple great beach days with friends and fam!”
“Surfing, volleyball and some boating with my daughter is a pleasure beyond words! Love my lil A,” Keegan concluded
